Our Story: Embracing the Challenge
Coming from a background in content and digital media, I quickly realized that understanding Artificial Intelligence can be overwhelming for those of us outside the tech realm. My quest began when I tried to search for top image-generation models and was met with either overly technical platforms like Hugging Face or generic, outdated articles.
This gap inspired me to create AIPortalX—a space where verified AI model data meets accessible, in-depth content curated for both beginners and experts.

The Power of AI in Action
Building AIPortalX was as much a personal journey as it was a technical adventure. As a newbie, I leaned heavily on AI tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and V0. These tools weren't just assistants—they were integral to transforming my scattered ideas into a full-fledged website.
Whether it was overcoming coding challenges or streamlining design choices, AI helped me progress from uncertain beginnings to a platform that now stands as a testament to what determination and modern technology can achieve.
Timeline: Milestones on Our Journey
The Beginning
Right after my CAT exam, I began brainstorming AIPortalX. With only a rough idea and a desire to explore React and MongoDB, I embarked on a journey filled with trial, error, and constant learning.
First Dataset
I discovered a dataset featuring key AI models and started populating the site with an initial list of 100 models. It took two weeks to display this data in a MaterialUI table, and I quickly learned that even setting up filters was a challenge I had yet to master.
Expanding Vision
With a clearer vision, I expanded the project. I shifted from React to Next.js for better community support, built additional pages, and introduced CTAs designed to keep users engaged. I also integrated Sanity as a headless CMS to streamline my content creation process.
Growing Features
The site grew with new features such as detailed model info pages and comparison tools. I dedicated significant effort to refining the UI/UX, and the dream of allowing users to run AI models directly on the site began to take shape.
Live Models Integration
Early in the month, I successfully integrated 20 live models by setting up essential API routes and a chat interface. By the end of February, this number had grown to over 55—each step marking a milestone in my journey.
Official Launch
I initially aimed to launch in early March. However, realizing the need to polish user flows for authentication and payments, I pushed the launch date to March 19—a day that also happens to be my birthday. On this day, after relentless effort and long hours, AIPortalX was officially unveiled.

Expanding beyond AI models, we launched a comprehensive AI Tools Directory featuring hundreds of curated AI tools across categories like productivity, design, writing, coding, and more. Users can now discover, compare, and find the perfect AI tool for their needs—all in one place.
